The Asian American Research Journal (AARJ), co-sponsored by the Asian American Research Center (AARC) and the Asian American and Asian Diaspora studies (AAADS) Program at UC Berkeley, seeks to provide a platform for research and scholarly work centered on Asian American experiences, identities, and communities. The AARJ is published annually with the intent to uplift and direct power towards undergraduate and graduate research. The journal welcomes works by UC Berkeley students centered on Asian American experiences, identities, and communities.
Call for Papers: VOLUME IV: The Space Between Oceans
The Asian American community is one that has been born out of years of diaspora and perseverance. The spaces that have emerged as a result of migration are pockets of culture and heritage that continue to fluctuate over time. The struggle to reconcile one’s homeland culture with that of the United States also contributes to the lived experience behind cross-cultural identity. The nuances that exist within and between communities underscore our ability to stand together without reducing our communities to a monolith. In our fourth edition of the Asian American Research Journal, we aim to explore the roots and histories of Asian American communities and the cross-cultural dynamics that exist today.
