The Asian American and Pacific Islander Transpacific Futures Initiative (AAPITF) reflects UC Berkeley’s commitment to strengthening research and teaching expertise in crucial areas of Asian American and Pacific Islander studies. The initiative, based at the Asian American Research Center, focuses on expanding existing faculty and graduate student networks in Asian American and Pacific Islander inquiry, building new partner relations with community organizations, and increasing the university’s public impact. The inititative was launched in 2025.
