United States Artists Fellowship Awarded to Philip Kan Gotanda

Asian American Research Center faculty affiliate Philip Kan Gotanda has been awarded the USA Fellowship for “rich contributions to the cultural fabric of the country." Gotanda’s work includes a vast collection of Asian American-themed plays which push the thematic boundaries of Asian American theater. Exploring topics such as interracial marriage and generational conflicts of mixed-race children, amongst others, Gotanda illuminates underrepresented perspectives within Asian American culture.
