Many Unvaccinated Latinos in the US Want the Shot

A member of the Guatemalan Maya community in Lake Worth, Fla., receives a Covid vaccine.An interview with Kurt Organista, faculty affiliate of ISSI's Center for Research on Social Change, is featured in this New York Times article about the barriers to access Latinos are facing despite findings suggesting that they are the demographic group most willing to receive the COVID vaccination. Organista explains, "The report shows that many Latinos have a high motivation to get vaccinated... They want to protect their families... [but,] they work a lot... so they don't want to jeopardize their jobs by taking time off to get vaccinated."
