CRWS Visiting Scholar Program

The Berkeley Center for Right-Wing Studies welcomes foreign and domestic scholars to apply for short and long term residence at the UC Berkeley campus.  CRWS provides scholars with access to office space (if available), participation in Center and campus programs and events, and a lively intellectual community.  Scholars are expected to provide their own funding.  Scholars are given an opportunity to publish their papers on the California Digital Library and to share their work with graduate students, faculty, and community members at CRWS-sponsored colloquia.

Procedure for applying to be a visiting scholar at CRWS:

1.  Please send your request to be a visiting scholar at ISSI to crws@berkeley.edu. Requests for visiting scholar positions at CRWS must include:

  • A brief letter of introduction indicating the appropriateness of your research to the mission of CRWS.
  • A CV and brief statement of the research you will be engaged in while a visiting scholar at CRWS.
  • Indication of whether you will need office space during your visit.
  • Your approximate arrival and departure dates (six or more months in advance).

2.  If accepted as a visiting scholar, the scholar will pay a University administrative services fee ($1,000 for students and $750 for others) and a CRWS Visiting Researcher fee of $500, in addition to any visa fees (if applicable).
