Winston Wong, MD, MS, earned his Bachelor of Science in Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley, graduated from the UC Berkeley/UCSF Medical Program in 1983, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. His career has spanned over forty years with leadership roles at Asian Health Services in Oakland Chinatown, the United States Public Health Service, and as an Executive with the national office of Kaiser Permanente. A staunch advocate for health equity, Dr. Wong is a Scholar in Residence at the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity at the Fielding School of Public Health (UCLA) and has had prominent roles in national policy including at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services, where he chaired the Advisory Committee on Minority Health. He has an active role in philanthropy and has served on the Board of Directors of the California Endowment, Grantmakers in Health, and the CDC Foundation.
