Bio/CV:

Kristin is a sociologist whose work examines the reproduction of social inequality and the dynamics of social change with a focus on morality, politics, and social movements. She earned a PhD in sociology from UC Berkeley in 2024. Empirically, she has examined church-centered antislavery activism in 19th century America, inequality in higher education, and gender inequality in moral evaluations of dating practices. Her next project explores the social processes through which Muslims in the West negotiate tensions between "Western" and "Islamic" values.
