Jason Corburn, a faculty affiliate of the Berkeley Center for Social Medicine, co-authored Advancing Peace, a new book discussing the end of gun violence in America's Black and Brown communities. The authors note how urban gun violence exploded in most parts of the country during COVID-19 except in four Californian cities who all had the Advance Peace gun violence prevention program. This book reveals how the community-based approach works and holds out genuine hope, and proven solutions, for those trying to end the plague of gun violence in the U.S.
