Vance’s views on older women are an opportunity for Harris

Stacy Torres, Center for Ethnographic Research faculty affiliate, has written an op-ed in the San Francisco Chronicle on JD Vance's views on older women. Torres argues that Vance’s retrograde “pro-family” views not only severely limit the freedom of women of all ages but pose serious and specific social and economic implications for women voters aged 65 and older. She continues, “The Harris campaign has an opportunity to shore up the senior vote in key swing states by making clear the dangers of translating Trump’s and Vance’s ideas into policy for older women, who live longer and are often financially worse off than men in late life."
