Scammer's Yard

ISSI's Center for Ethnographic Research faculty affiliate Jovan Scott Lewis published a new book based on his ethnographic research among young and poor men striving to make a living in Montego Bay's struggling economy. Scammer's Yard: The Crime of Black Repair in Jamaica details how these young men come to view crime as a form of liberation in overcoming inequality and achieving autonomy.
