No, Deporting Undocumented Immigrants won’t Solve the Fentanyl Crisis

This Op-Ed in the San Francisco Chronicle, co-authored by Carlos Martinez, faculty affiliate of Berkeley Center for Social Medicine, criticizes the growing effort to use the fentanyl overdose crisis to attack immigrant communities. The authors argue that this approach is harmful to immigrants and also has a negative impact on efforts to provide critical harm reduction services for undocumented and Latinx substance users.
