Khatharya Um, faculty affiliate of ISSI's Asian American Research Center, has recently been appointed Associate Dean in the Social Sciences Division at Berkeley. Accounting for 20 percent of the faculty, 25 percent of student enrollments, and 15 departments and programs, each among the most distinguished in the nation, the Social Sciences Division is the largest division within the university.
