Thomas M. Philip, faculty affiliate of the Asian American Research Center, was awarded the Chancellor's Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence and Equity (CAAIEE). He was recognized for leading the Berkeley Teacher Education Program through a transformational program redesign and restructuring that draws on his own research on the ethical and political dimensions of learning. The program weaves diversity, equity and justice principles and practices into admissions, coursework, pedagogy, and team culture amongst other aspects.
