Four Ways to Get More Black and Latino Teachers in K-12 Public Schools

In this article, Travis Bristol, faculty affiliate of ISSI's Center for Research on Social Change, discusses how having Black and Latino Teachers in public schools help create positive social and emotional experiences for their students. Bristol suggests focusing on the retention of teachers of color, improving the leadership and work conditions in the school, funding schools more equitably, and redesigning teacher trainings.
