A new article in Critical Sociology by Cihan Tuğal, faculty affiliate of the Center for Right-Wing Studies, uses humorously dark parables about elephants to help us rethink the agenda of sociology. He explains how the sociological community today risks missing the whole picture and getting mired in unproductive brawls because our understanding is shaped by our own experiences. Our blindness, Tuğal explains, has repercussions beyond the practice of social science because humanity is facing multiple crises that might combine into a terminal crisis.
