Research by Ariana Thompson-Lastad, Berkeley Center for Social Medicine faculty affiliate, is featured in this article by Cal Matters. The research investigates access to midwifery care for people insured through Medi-Cal and the barriers to community midwives being Medi-Cal providers. The research team is partnering closely with the CA Midwifery Learning Collaborative on policy change efforts in this area.
