AARC awarded grants to six UCB faculty members - Harvey Dong, Vernadette Vicuña Gonzalez, Hidetaka Hirota, SanSan Kwan, Margiana Peterson-Rockney, and Qing Zhou - and six graduate students - Edwin Carlos, Sarah Halabe, Hua Luo, Lisa Ng, Maria Victoria Ribeiro Ruy, and Leyi Zhou - from a variety of fields: Education; Ethnic Studies; Environmental Science, Policy and Management; History; Psychology; Social Welfare; and Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies. The projects include choreographing a dance about passivity, analyzing the effects of climate change on Hmong American farmers in California, documenting the roles of arts organizations in the 1960s movement for Asian American rights, investigating civic participation among older Chinese immigrants in the Bay Area, and many more!
