Does the program provide housing?
Unfortunately, the center does not provide housing. Options listed through the University are available here: http://summer.berkeley.edu/student-services/student-housing. Please note that the workshop is not a summer course, and so you cannot stay in the university residence halls. Summer sublets are plentiful; many are listed on this UCB site and other rental listing sites.
Visas
International participants are welcome, though you are responsible for getting a visa. You should apply for a B1 visa: "attend a scientific, educational, professional, or business convention or conference." Or, if you also want to add tourism to your stay, apply for a B1/B2 visa.
Application Process and Deadline
Applications are considered on a rolling basis and space is limited. The first review date is March 9th, 2026. Applicants who apply by March 9th will be notified by March 24th. Those who apply later will be notified within two weeks of applying.
The 2026 workshop is full and we have a waitlist already. Please check back in February 2027 re the 2027 workshop.
