Anam Mehta is a PhD student in the Geography department with interests at the intersection of agrarian technology, imperialism, and climate change. His research seeks to examine the political economy and ecology of the industrial greenhouse as an exemplary technology of emergent relationships of climate solution and crisis. Tracing the labor and commodity supply chains that are necessary to export greenhouse technology globally, the project focuses on how the economic, material, and extractive systems of greenhouse agriculture spread across multiple geographies, embedding specific relations of capital, technology, and racialized migration in place.
