A new book by Loïc Wacquant, Center for Ethnographic Research faculty affiliate, includes an analytical history of 100 years of urban ethnography. It provides a systematic critique of the ethnographic method as well as tools to improve its practice. The book offers a distinctive approach to ethnography grounded in the work of Pierre Bourdieu.
